Fieldfare is more than a travel magazine: our mission is to explore the qualities that make a place special, where we feel a sense of belonging.

Our goal is to make a beautiful, inspiring magazine that looks and feels so good, you’ll want to keep it forever.

Fieldfare Press founders Skye O’Neill and Mendy Waits met online on Instagram (and you can read more about that here). But during the recent pandemic, they found themselves craving something more tactile, more authentic, and more real, and the idea of a journal that could feature new and emerging writers and photographers with a fresh perspective was born.

Each issue of the magazine features a mix of stories—photo essays, travel features, personal narratives, profiles of artists, gardeners and makers, and beautiful houses and buildings—all with a focus on the importance of place and community.

Issue 3: Sanctuary published on 27 October 2022 and you can order it here.

What does fieldfare mean, anyway?

“Fieldfare: a large migratory thrush with a grey head which breeds in northern Europe and winters in Great Britain. The Old English word feldefare perhaps meant ‘traveller through the fields’, from felde (field) + faran (to travel).”
